Charles Focht Tucson Studio Art Pottery Vessel - Item/Description: Late 20th-century studio art pottery wheel-thrown ceramic vessel handcrafted around 1990 by Southwestern regional potter Charles Focht (American, 1928-2012) in his Tucson, Arizona studio. The organic modern design features a globular form finished in a distinctive matte cream or white slip, heavily embellished with a flowing, multi-toned drip glaze reminiscent of the Southwestern landscape. Focht's work captures the spirit of the desert using copper-infused glazes to produce rich shades of turquoise, sea green, and sandy tan, with an unglazed under-base.
