Milza - Spanish Santos Carved Mary Sculpture - Item/Description: Antique religious sculpture depicts the Virgin Mary standing in a prayerful posture with her hands clasped on her chest, rendered in a traditional Spanish Colonial Santo style. Immaculate Mother figurine rests atop a hemispherical cloud plinth flanked by two golden crescent moon tips and adorned with three hand-carved winged cherub or angel heads. The heavily draped vestments feature deeply undercut, cascading folds that retain dynamic remnants of original red, green, and gold leaf paint finishes over a gesso-prepared wood substrate. Hand-incised ”M.
