Severino Signed Carved Santos Folk Art Figurine - Item/Description: Hand-carved and signed ”Severino”, carved wooden bulto, or santos figurine depicting Saint Francis of Assisi holding a book and a small cross. Figure features the characteristically elongated, lean proportions, a prominent carved beard, and wide, expressive eyes painted on a flattened facial plane. Elongated brown habit is accented with red interior sleeve linings and a knotted white cord belt, finished in a matte polychrome paint that emulates a historic, water-based gesso and natural pigment surface.
