Japanese Kayoi-Tokkuri - Merchant Sake Bottles - Item/Description: Antique Japanese ovoid, glazed stoneware storage jugs, historically utilized by patrons to ferry sake between local breweries and homes. Each vessel is bolded with swift, hand-painted iron-black kanji calligraphy, and embodies the wabi-sabi aesthetic. Molded in utilitarian form with a narrow neck wrapped with original rustic hemp cordage, and a neutral cream glaze typical of regional folk kilns like Shigaraki or Tamb.
