Islamic Ottoman Brass Divit - Scribe's Travel Set - Item/Description: An antique Ottoman brass divit, traveling scribe's pen case featuring an oblong, flat-sided shaft designed to store hollow reed pens (qalam). Substantial, faceted square inkwell (hokka) projects from the upper flank of the main body, securely sealed with a robust hinged lid. The entire exterior surface is hand-incised with scrolling foliate vines, stylized flowers, and dense cross-hatched geometric panels, demonstrating the administrative material culture of the late Ottoman bureaucracy.
