Copy signed on both title pages by “Yohanan Meir Gutterman, ” a grandson of the Radzymin line, brother of one of the Chabad Rebbes! The holy Rebbe R. Aharon Menachem Mendel of Radzymin was not granted children. On the second title page he entreats  “לפני כל א' וא' מישראל שיראה זה המאמר, לעורר רחמים גם עלי לפני בעל הרחמים ית”ש, שיזכני ג”כ בבנים, ושאזכה לגדלם לתוה”ק כי זה כל האדם… נאום השפל… המצפה לרחמי שמים שיוושעו יהודא וישראל בכל משאלות לבם לטובה, ולהיות נשפע שפע ברכות וישועות לנו ולכל ישראל, ושנזכה לביאת גואל צדק במהרה בימינו אנס”ו”. In the Path of Livelihood the Rebbe writes at the end of the introduction: “שזוכה להתברך בכל מכל כל ולהיות שערי הפרנסה פתוחין לפניו”. The Rebbe R. Aharon Menachem Mendel Gutterman (1860–1934), son of the Rebbe R. Shlomo David Yehoshua, son of the holy Saba Kadisha of Radzymin. While still an infant in the cradle, his holy grandfather requested to see him every single day, laying his sacred hands upon him and blessing him. He spoke of him in exceedingly lofty terms. He said of him ער וועט זיין א רבי, אובער א רוסישע רבי... And indeed, besides dwelling in the shadow of his father and his holy grandfather, he was a disciple of the holy Gaon, the Avnei Nezer of Sochatchov, and traveled to receive the Chabad way in Chasidus from the Rebbe Rashaz of Kapust, and also journeyed to Belz and Tshortkov. Rabbi Aharon Mendel was regarded as one of the great Rebbes of Poland. He acted extensively on behalf of Jewish soldiers, and even ensured kosher food for Jewish prisoners in Polish jails and for Jewish students in the universities. He founded the “Shomrei Shabbat” society in the cities of Poland. He served as president of Kollel Poland, acted greatly on behalf of the Holy Land, purchased and restored many sacred places, and was among the pillars of the founding of the city of Bnei Brak. His efforts became known in establishing a partition, benches, and lighting in the plaza of the Western Wall during his visit in 1929, and their destruction by the British in the midst of Yom Kippur. A sacred obligation to purchase the book: In a letter of the Rebbe, the Chelkat Yehoshua of Biala זצ”ל, for the renewed printing of the book, he writes: “זכיתי בילדותי להסתופף בצל הקודש דודי זצלה”ה [הרה”ק מראדזימין היה חתן ה'דברי בינה' מביאלא], שמעתי ממנו דברי א' חיים אשר בכוחם לרדת לחדרי בטן ולפלוח כליות ולב, וכאשר גדולים צדיקים במיתתן יותר מבחייהם…, ובכן חוב קדוש לקנות הספר להביא ברכה לתוך ביתם..., ויתקיים וישא אהרן את ידיו אל העם ויברכם משמי מרומים להפקד בפקודת ישועה ורחמים…”. Copy of Yohanan Meir Gutterman of Radzymin, brother of one of the Chabad Rebbes! Owners: Signature on both title pages: “יוחנן מאיר גוטערמאן”. Rabbi Yohanan Meir Gutterman was a cousin of the author, R. Aharon Menachem Mendel, a son of the Rebbe R. Yisrael, the oldest son of the Saba Kadisha R. Yaakov Aryeh of Radzymin. The brother of R. Yohanan Meir, R. Levi Yitzchak Gutterman, was the son-in-law of the Rebbe R. Chaim Shneur Zalman Schneersohn of Liadi, son of the holy Tzemach Tzedek. Through his father-in-law, R. Levi Yitzchak drew close to Chabad teaching, and upon the passing of his father-in-law in 1880, he began to serve as Rebbe in Liadi, from where he later moved to Siratin. He was the only Chabad Rebbe who was not himself a descendant of the holy author of the Tanya זי”ע.
