Kesef Nivḥar, three parts, principles of the Talmud and the Poskim, by R. Baruch Bendit Guttayn. Lemberg 1873–1878. An exceptional copy — with many marginal notes! - Sefer Kesef Nivḥar, three parts, principles of the Talmud and the Poskim, by Rabbi Baruch Bendit Guttayn. Lemberg, 1873–1878 Owners: Signed on the title page: Shmuel Ashlag . The Rebbe R. Shmuel Ashlag זצ”ל, son of the Rebbe Rabash — Rabbi Baruch Shalom, son of the Baal ha-Sulam זיע”א, was a genius in the revealed and the hidden Torah, yet he lived all his days in humility. Against his will the mantle of leadership was placed upon him after his father’s passing, and even then he spoke but little. He did not long outlive him and passed away on 29 Tishrey 1996. It seems that he is the author of the many marginal notes throughout the volume, which testify to an extraordinary mastery of the writings of the later authorities.
