Holy Notes – A Revelation of Eliyahu!!! Pri Etz Chaim – Koretz 1785 – with handwritten notes by an unknown Tzadik, recording a revelation of Eliyahu HaNavi! - Pri Etz Chaim, First Edition Including hand-written notes of a misterious chassidic Rebbe, recording his thoughts and the Revelation of Eliyahu which he experienced!! Sefer Pri Etz Chaim, authored by the divine kabbalist Moreinu HaRav Chaim Vital, of blessed memory, as he received from holy Ari, of blessed memory, according to the true kabbalah he received from the mouth of Eliyahu the Prophet.. Koretz 1785 – First Edition:  The edition of R’ Shabtai of Rashkov: In 1782, a work titled Pri Etz Chaim was first printed in Koretz. Yet this is not the same book that emerged three years later from the very same press. The writings of R’ Chaim Vital underwent various edits by different editors. The precise name of the work printed in 1782 is Me'orot Natan, as titled by its editor, the holy Rabbi Natan Shapira of Jerusalem. The Pri Etz Chaim printed in 1785 is a different work in its order and, to a large extent, in its content as well. It is the edition of the holy Rabbi Meir Papirash. [See the essay by R. Yosef Avivi in Moriah (115–116, year 10, 7–8).] The holy Rabbi Chaim Tzanzer, a contemporary and ideological opponent of the holy Baal Shem Tov and head of the sages of the kloiz in Brody, even writes that the first edition “was printed in error and they did not sift their flour properly”! Here, however, the matter was corrected with the printing of an accurate text. Moreover, the publisher announces, in the notice beneath the page of approbations, that this edition was printed from a manuscript of Pri Etz Chaim, carefully proofread, copied by the holy and renowned kabbalist Rabbi Shabtai of Rashkov, of blessed memory — disciple of the Baal Shem Tov and the compiler of the famed Siddur HaAri — “for all his writings are presumed to be accurate, as his name is firmly established in his place, and things well-known need no proof”… Title Page: A stamp appears but is unidentified. A stamp below — an emblem, possibly a censor’s approval. Ownership Inscription: יצחק מאיר פיש R. Yitzchak Meir Fish was a grandson of the first Gerrer Rebbe, the Chiddushei HaRim. He ascended to the Land of Israel and passed away in Tel Aviv. The Hidden Rebbe – and a Revelation of Eliyahu!: On the flyleaves at the beginning and end of the sefer, various notes were recorded. At first glance one might assume they are merely unrelated scribbles. Yet a deeper look reveals that the book was used by one of the lesser-known tzaddikim of the chassidic world from some one hundred sixty years ago, who wrote down for himself sayings that reveal his inner feelings. The list begins with nothing less than an account of a revelation of Eliyahu the Prophet, of blessed memory! The content itself proves both its authenticity and its date, for at the head of the entry appears the date “the night of Thursday, Parashat Vayera, ” and above the text was added “the year כתר”, i.e. 1860. In the further pages, the writer quotes from the Kol Simchah of the Rebbe, Rabbi Bunim of Peshischa, which, he declares, had appeared only recently. The sefer Kol Simchah was indeed printed in 1859.
