Bound with the rare Sefer ha-Kometz, Przemyśl, 1887 - Tefillah le-David - On matters of blessings and on the formulas of prayer The holy Rabbi Avraham David of Botoșčatsh: Born in Nadvorna on the 6th of Adar 1730 to his father, the righteous Rabbi Asher Anshil of the lineage of the Maharsha and the Rema. He dwelt in the shadow of the holy rabbis, the author of Tzemach le-Tzvi, the Kedushat Levi, and Rabbi Moshe Leib of Sassov. In 1795 he was appointed rabbi of Yozlevitz; in 1799 he succeeded his father-in-law in Botoșčatsh. The holy gaon Rabbi Meir of Premishlan once said of the holy gaon Rabbi Avraham David: “Meir has twenty-four proofs that the rabbi of Botoșčatsh possesses the soul of the holy Tanna Rabbi Akiva.” In the eulogy delivered by the gaon Rabbi Shlomo Kluger of Brody, he attested to the exalted greatness of the holy rabbi: “This one fulfilled that which is written… especially since they accorded him honor in his passing, for he did not die as other men; rather, they informed him of his day of death beforehand, and he surrendered his soul to the Blessed One willingly. And it was almost as a kind of death by a kiss, and he died as a king of Israel… And since they accorded him honor above in his death, it is fitting that below we too bestow upon him exceeding honor… and say of him that he fulfilled the entire Torah and did not transgress even the strictures and stringencies of the later authorities; in all he was exceedingly meticulous.” Sefer ha-Kometz Przemyśl, 1887 Sefer ha-Kometz, a very rare small book containing several homiletic passages, by Rabbi Yehudah Ha-Levi Leizner, a resident of Botoșčatsh.
