17th Century French School - The Judgment of Paris - Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 63 x 51 cm (framed), 49 x 37 cm (unframed). This work depicts The Judgement of Paris, one of the most iconic myths of Classical Antiquity. Set in a pastoral landscape, the scene shows Prince Paris presenting the golden apple to Aphrodite, while Hera and Athena look on expectantly. The composition, highly theatrical and rich in color, stands out for its warm light, the elegance of the female figures, and subtle mythological details such as the presence of Hermes and Cupid. Inspired by sources such as The Iliad and Metamorphoses, this theme was explored by artists such as Rubens and David.
