Pair of pharmacy jars, Manises Ceramics, 19th Century - Glazed ceramic in shades of white and blue. With meticulously hand-painted typography, these pieces preserve the essence of traditional apothecary jars used in the 19th century. The containers feature cobalt blue inscriptions such as ”Malta Extract” and ”Sigma Malta, ” highlighted by decorative lines and wheat-egg motifs evoking Valencian artisanal craftsmanship. The bulbous, lidded shape is characteristic of pharmaceutical containers designed for the preservation of medicinal substances. The glazed enamel gives a smooth, glossy texture, while small imperfections and crackles reflect their historical use.
