Large and exceptional Romanesque Saint John the Baptist from Northern Catalonia, Pyrenees, Catalan work from the late 12th - early 13th century - Dimensions: 160 x 38 x 25 cm, made of black Pyrenean pine ”Pinus Uncinata”. The wood is in a good state of preservation, with no visible traces of wood-eating, and retaining much of its original polychromy on the clothing and face. Provenance: Former private collection in Madrid, important private collection, Spain.
