Exquisite Christ of Nazareth, anonymous colonial figure from New Granada, Spanish colonial school of the 18th century - Oil on canvas depicting the bust of Christ crowned with thorns, his gaze directed at the viewer with a sorrowful expression. Dramatic chiaroscuro defines the modeling of the face, which emerges from a dark background with mystical intensity. The impasto brushwork and earthy and golden tones recall the Spanish Baroque tradition.
