Spanish School. 19th century - An oval oil on canvas depicting the Immaculate Virgin standing on a bank of clouds and surrounded by a group of angels carrying Marian attributes such as lilies and palms. The central figure, with a serene face and elevated gaze, wears a white tunic and flowing blue mantle. The gradient vermillion background with a halo of light highlights the divine silhouette. Signed in the lower corner by R. Torres Pardo and dated 1866, this work captures the Baroque iconographic model inherited from nineteenth-century religious painting, with a soft and luminous execution.
