Spectacular pair of Neapolitan Grand Tour busts in patinated bronze of Patrician Ladies, 18th century - Patinated bronze with traces of greenish patina, lost-wax cast and finely chiseled. The work shows a pair of female busts on reddish marble pedestals with cylindrical shafts, conceived as decorative objects with a strong classicist character. The figures are treated with special care in the arrangement of the drapery folds, which fluidly envelop the shoulders and chest, highlighting the idealized faces with restrained gaze and serene expressions. The hairstyle, also carefully modeled, follows the decorative patterns of neoclassical taste, evoking the aesthetics of classical antiquity reinterpreted during the 18th century. The workmanship reveals a refined execution, with polished surfaces and a uniform patina that accentuates the nobility of the material. The composition conveys a harmonious balance between the sculptural volume and the marble pedestal, highlighting its ornamental function in aristocratic or palatial settings. The piece is part of the 18th-century European decorative tradition, in which classical influences merge with the aesthetic ideals of Neoclassicism. Its visual and symbolic impact lies in the dignification of the female figure as an emblem of virtue and elegance. Total height with column: 160 x 38 cm.
