Landscape. Spanish School. 20th Century - Oil on panel. Under an overcast sky with loose, impasto brushwork, a rural-looking natural setting stretches out. Two figures can be distinguished resting next to a horse and a covered cart, standing on the bank of a body of water. The scene is organized with a marked diagonal line separating the shadowy terrain from the watery reflection in the foreground, on which subtle shadows and gleams are projected. Two stylized trees rise in the central axis of the composition, lending verticality to the whole. The application of the paint, rich in texture and vibrant in greens, ochres, and blues, accentuates the melancholic atmosphere of the scene. This work is part of the 20th-century Spanish landscape tradition, with echoes of Valencian Luminism and late naturalist painting. Dimensions: 67.5 x 120 cm
