Pair of mythological scenes. Italian School. 17th-century Roman master - Oil on canvas. Pair of large-format mythological compositions, representative of Italian painting of the Seicento. In the first scene, a female figure is courted by a warrior in a ruined classical setting, with cherubs and nymphs enriching the narrative. The second work depicts the abduction of Europa, with Zeus transformed into a bull emerging from the sea, surrounded by a group of winged figures and nymphs. The compositions feature a carefully structured stage, rich in gestures and expressiveness, where the treatment of flesh, fabrics, and landscapes is agile and colorful. The atmosphere is enhanced by the light contrast and chromatic intensity characteristic of the high Baroque. Dimensions: 138 x 88 cm and 146 x 96 cm (unframed).
