Profile portrait of a gypsy woman with a relaxed and melancholic expression, dressed in a light-colored blouse with red and pink flowers. The loose, vibrant brushstrokes, typical of watercolor, lend freshness and dynamism to the face and loose hair. Signed and dated in Seville in 1895, this work is part of the nineteenth-century costumbrista tradition, which valued the depiction of popular types with a naturalistic and lively approach.
