A work from the Grand Tour, late 19th century, based on the Mannerist models of Jean de Bologne. Mercury soars on a gust of air personified by a blowing face, with his right arm extended upwards and his left holding the caduceus. The youthful body leans in an elegant contrapposto, conveying lightness and dynamism.
