Mythological Bacchanal, Attributed to Paulin. French School. 19th Century - Oil on bone plate. Dimensions: 27 x 14 cm. A mythological bacchanalian scene inspired by French Classicism, with nude and semi-nude figures dancing and carrying floral offerings in an idealized landscape. The scene is organized in horizontal registers evoking a classical sculptural frieze. The use of color is delicate, with pastel tones and a serene atmosphere. The architectural background with a temple and statue reinforces the Arcadian feel. On the reverse, the title ”Les Bacchantes en fête (après Poussin)” appears, confirming the thematic affiliation.
