Exceptional historical collection comprising approximately 3,400 dried butterflies (57 cases) mounted with pins, 30% originating from Europe and the remainder from regions such as Africa, Madagascar, India, Japan, Sri Lanka, South America, Australia, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, and Indonesia. This type of collection was highly valued by naturalists and enthusiasts during the 19th and 20th centuries, especially in the Victorian era, when the study of insects was considered a scientific and educational pursuit.
