Pair of Obelisks. Russian School. 20th Century - Carved and polished malachite. Approximate height: 40 cm each. Elegant pair of decorative obelisks crafted in malachite, a semi-precious stone known for its intense green hue and distinctive veining, originating from Russia and likely produced in the early 20th century. Each piece features a tapered pyramidal shaft with a square base and pointed tip, resting on a stepped pedestal with classical architectural elements. The precision cutting and high-gloss polish showcase the natural patterns of the malachite, arranged with ornamental intent in swirling and banded forms that enhance their visual appeal. Inspired by the neoclassical decorative tradition of Russian imperial workshops, these obelisks were intended to embellish refined interiors such as libraries, desks, or palace vitrines. Their symmetry, formal balance, and use of rare materials make them highly decorative objects, representative of the early 20th-century Russian taste for hardstone craftsmanship. Approximate height: 40 cm each.
