18th Century French School - Alleged portrait of Charles le Brun - Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 100 × 70 cm. A finely executed painting, presumably depicting the young Charles Le Brun at approximately twenty years of age, portrayed with long, flowing hair, and presented in a period gilt frame. He is especially known for the decoration of the salons at the Palace of Versailles. He also founded an academy of painting and sculpture with twelve collaborators and designed the palace furniture, as well as the now-lost gold tableware.
