Group of the Virgin with Child and Saint Anne, Saint Francis and donor, Flemish School, 17th Century - Carved oak. Measures 50 x 47 cm. Sculptural group arranged in deep relief, organized into a devotional scene of marked narrative density, where the crowned Virgin holds the Child in the center of the composition, accompanied by Saint Anne, both seated and enveloped in ample mantles with angular and structured folds. Behind them rise the figures of Saint Francis and a donor, integrated into a background that reinforces the spatial and symbolic hierarchy of the group. The slightly inclined heads, the restrained gestures, and the visual interaction between the figures generate an atmosphere of contemplation and solemnity. The carving reveals remarkable technical mastery, especially in the treatment of the drapery, faces, and hands, where a serene and balanced expressiveness is evident. The use of oak, the stepped composition, and the iconographic clarity all coherently refer to the Flemish sculptural tradition of the 17th century, where late Gothic elements survive combined with an increasingly pronounced naturalism, giving the work a strong spiritual presence and great formal quality.
