Architectural element with shield and rampant lions, European School, 17th Century - Carved oak wood. Measures 105 x 100 cm. A large-format architectural element conceived in high relief, articulated around a central shield supported by two symmetrically arranged rampant lions. The animal figures have robust bodies, expressive heads, and dynamic tails, creating a composition with a strong heraldic presence. The shield, with its convex surface, is integrated into a sober architectural frame that reinforces the monumentality of the whole. The carving is deep and vigorous, with a remarkable mastery of volume and a dark patina that enhances the contrast of light and shadow. The formal language and heraldic iconography coherently recall 17th-century European production, where these elements fulfill a representative and symbolic function within interior architecture.
