Bidspirit auction | Pitcher with Angel and Olive

Pitcher with Angel and Olive Branches, James Dudson, England, 19th Century - Green monochrome glazed ceramic bisque. Measures 16 cm. A jug with a rounded body and side handle, decorated with a central angel motif set in an oval, surrounded by olive branches that follow the contour of the vessel. The relief features smooth and balanced modeling, while the uniform green glaze provides chromatic depth without obscuring the ornamental details. The composition harmoniously combines symbolism and vegetal decoration. This piece is from the production of James Dudson in Hanley around 1860, within the 19th-century English ceramic tradition.
