Pair of Carrara marble capitals with acanthus leaves, Italy, 16th century - Hand-carved Carrara marble. Measurements: lower base 44 × 15 cm; upper base 69 × 27 cm; height 48 cm; weight approx. 100–150 kg (each). A beautiful pair of Renaissance capitals decorated with intertwined acanthus leaves, from a Venetian villa; these solid pieces with an elegant patina are ideal as bases for glass-topped tables, balustrades, or room dividers, for both indoor and outdoor use. In very good overall condition, with slight signs of age. Provenance: Venice, villa, private collection. Lot in international warehouse (within the EU).
