His serene face, with a typically Khmer smile, expresses deep meditation. His hairstyle, a fine braid topped by the cranial protuberance ushnisha. Beige sandstone. Cambodia. The naga's back is finely carved with a chakra, a symbol of Buddhist law, the attribute of the disc of the god Vishnu, Buddha being the ninth avatar of Vishnu. Cambodia. Khmer.
