Exceptional Chinese Jade from the Western Han Dynasty, 2nd Century BC. C. - I d. c. - Carved and chiseled celadon jade. Measures 7.7 x 2.8 cm. Slightly flattened cylindrical bead, perforated lengthwise. One side features figures of fantastical creatures facing each other amidst curvilinear motifs, while the other incorporates geometric decoration of interlaced lines. The stone displays brown inclusions and natural color variations.
