Christ in bronze with the four evangelists in enamels, according to Romanesque models from Limoges, France, 19th century - Enamel and silver, mounted on a plexiglass support. Measurements: crucifix 17 cm; cross 55 cm; overall 55.5 x 38 x 3 cm. An interesting crucifix made following Gothic models from Limoges, probably between the 18th and 19th centuries, conceived within the historicist tradition of reviving medieval typologies. The cross features ends decorated with enamels representing the four Evangelists, an iconographic device with a long tradition in European religious metalwork. The piece stands out for its technical refinement, its delicate work in silver and enamel, and for the devotional power of the figure of the Crucified Christ, conceived within an aesthetic of clear medieval inspiration. Subsequently mounted on a plexiglass support for conservation and display.
