Portrait of a girl in a landscape. Signed. European academic school. 19th century - Oil on panel. Dimensions 13 x 9 cm. Portrait of a young girl seated outdoors on a rock formation, immersed in a delicately suggested natural environment of vegetation. The figure adopts a reflective and serene attitude, her gaze directed into the distance, a branch held in her hands. The composition gives prominence to the expression of her face and the soft fall of her hair, while the bluish atmosphere of the background envelops the scene in a sense of poetic stillness. The refined brushwork and subtle modeling of the flesh tones demonstrate a solid academic training, complemented by a sensibility akin to the sentimental portraiture of the late 19th century. The balance between landscape and figure, along with the chromatic delicacy and the quality of the drawing, give the work a remarkable visual appeal and a marked evocative power. Dimensions 13 x 9 cm.
