Bidspirit auction | Spectacular pair of biforated openings

Spectacular pair of biforated openings or neo-Gothic balusters, Italy, Venice, 19th century - Hand-carved and sculpted Asiago Biancone marble. Dimensions: 76 × 67 × 15 cm each. Approximate weight: 90 kg each. A magnificent pair of bi-fronted clerestory windows crafted from Asiago Biancone marble, designed in an elegant Neo-Gothic style and executed entirely by hand with extraordinary sculptural quality. Particularly noteworthy are the finely carved, twisted Solomonic columns and the delicate architectural ornamentation, elements that demonstrate the workshop's mastery and lend the ensemble a remarkable monumental presence. In addition to their artistic value, these pieces offer great decorative versatility, serving as bases for a table with a glass or marble top, as balustrades or dividers both indoors and outdoors, or even as architectural elements attached to a wall as a window or room partition. Their solid construction and high structural strength make them suitable for supporting heavy loads, while maintaining the elegance and visual lightness characteristic of Venetian Neo-Gothic architecture. Originating from Venice, they constitute a set of extraordinary quality and scarce presence on the market, especially due to the excellence of their carving and the refinement of their proportions. They are presented in excellent overall condition. Lot in international warehouse (within the EU). Intra-EU shipping: no import duties apply within the EU.
