Bidspirit auction | Mountain landscape. Serna Ramos. Spanish

Mountain landscape. Serna Ramos. Spanish School. 20th century - Oil on paper. Dimensions: 18 x 13 cm (32 x 29 cm with frame). A rugged landscape with buildings in shadow, silhouetted against a warm-toned sky. The quick brushstrokes and open composition accentuate the expressive character and introspective atmosphere. The signature, visible in the foreground, belongs to Serna Ramos, an artist whose work is part of contemporary Spanish landscape expressionism. The treatment of color is intuitive, and the spatiality is suggested rather than represented, resulting in a painting of emotional evocation and subjective memory.
