The Young Florist. Andalusian School. 19th Century - Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 44 x 57.5 cm. The scene depicts a young florist offering flowers to a group of elegantly dressed ladies, while in the background a gentleman approaches with a gallant gesture. The composition takes place on a street with simple architecture, where the precisely rendered figures stand out for the clarity of their clothing and the naturalness of their gestures. The warm chromaticism, with a predominance of ochres, browns, and greens, intensifies the sense of costumbrismo. The brushwork is firm and detailed, characteristic of 19th-century Andalusian painting, characterized by an interest in popular life and narrative scenes. The overall painting conveys anecdotal freshness and a visual appeal marked by social interaction.
