This document recounts how the Hebrew state lost its sovereignty at the end of a war with the Romans, marked by the taking of Jerusalem, the destruction of the Temple, and the fall of Masada. In this staging at the Boulbon quarry, a magical mineral site in south Avignon, Jeanne Moreau sits at a table and takes on the role of the writer. She is accompanied by actors who play characters from the book in this lyrical and political meditation on the present-day Middle East. Amos Gitai feels Flavius Josephus' text «is one of his ghosts» and that it is important to make his voice heard again today.
