V. M. Bekhterev (1857-1927) was an outstanding Russian psychiatrist, neuropathologist, physiologist, psychologist, founder of reflexology and pathopsychology in Russia, academician. In his book, he argued that there is no innate reflex of slavery or freedom, and argued that society, as it were, carries out social selection, creating a moral personality, and, thus, it is the social environment that is the source of human development. Heredity sets only the type of reaction, but the reactions themselves are brought up by society. According to Bekhterev, the proof of such plasticity, flexibility of the nervous system, and its dependence on the environment were studies of genetic reflexology, which proved the priority of the environment in the development of reflexes in infants and young children.
