English, edited and with notes of the General staff Colonel [A. M.] Khvostov.
SPb. Publisher V. Berezovsky. 1907 VIII, 492 p., ill., maps. Size 16.5 x 23 cm

In the font publishing cover. Minor breaks in the binding. Two large-format maps are not intertwined in the block. Minor card breaks in the corners of the folds. An excellent state of preservation.
The cards appear to have been printed in a smaller print run and sold separately. This is evidenced by the rarity of complete copies on the antique market.
A monograph by the English war journalist Ellis Ashmead-Bartlett (1881-1931), who was with the Lega army during the entire siege of Port Arthur. This book is considered in the West one of the main works on the Russian-Japanese war. It was also one of the few translated into Russian that described historical events from the point of view of the enemy .
