[Kretova (nee Zhuchkova) Olga Kapitonovna (07.11.1903, Voronezh – 16.07.1994, Voronezh) - novelist, essayist, memoirist, member of the Union Of writers of the USSR (1934). Niece Of I. K. Voronov. She spent her childhood in the village of Chertovitskoe, Voronezh district, where she also taught school (1920-1928). Published since 1924. Since 1929-employee of the regional peasant newspaper ”New village”. In the 30s, she was engaged in organizing the literary forces of the Central Committee. Before the great Patriotic war, she worked in regional book publishing. Head of the Voronezh branch of the USSR joint venture (1946-1950). Own correspondent of Literaturnaya Gazeta (1953-1956). Published in the magazines ”Rise” and ”October”, the almanac ”Literary Voronezh”. She paid great attention to local history issues in her work.
