The collection of letters of the outstanding Russian religious thinker and poet was prepared for publication by the historian of philosophy Ernest Radlov, who together with Vladimir Solovyov edited the philosophical part of the Brockhaus and Efron dictionary. In addition to letters, the collection includes some journalistic works that were not included in the published collection of Solovyov's works, as well as the story "at the dawn of misty youth" and the youthful work mystery-joke `White Lily`.

Hardcover, size 16 x 23.5 cm. Volumes 1-7 are in good condition. The bindings are worn, there are glued places and owner's notes, in volume 6, the block split and a drop-down list. The eighth volume is in satisfactory condition, - the spine and upper cover of the binding are split and peeled off, several pages are torn, and a drop-down sheet is being torn off.

The collection of works includes all the original works of V. S. Solovyov, with the exception of poems and stories. In the Preface to the collection, M. Solovyov writes about the order of publication of materials: 'the Order in which I stopped corresponds, as it seems to me, to the spiritual evolution experienced by the author. According to the latter, the first two volumes include philosophical works of the first period (1873-1880), the third - theological (1877-1884), the fourth - works that focus on the question of the Church (1883 - 1887), the fifth - `the national question in Russia` and other journalistic works (1883-1897), the sixth, the most diverse in content - works of historical character, aesthetics and criticism (1886-1897), the seventh - moral philosophy (1894-1897), seventh - moral philosophy (1894-1897), in the eighth and last - philosophical and other works of recent years (1897-1900), characterized by a General special character`.
