An outstanding historical monument of the beginning of the era of Great reforms, which published all the preparatory documents on the Peasant reform of 1861, collected in the Editorial commissions. The publication contains a huge material covering different aspects of peasant life and land relations between the nobility and farmers. The work of Alexander Ilyich Skrebitsky (1827-1915) became the main source for research on the preparation of Peasant reform for many generations of historians.
