[The book of Archimandrite Kirill Zaitsev " I. A. Bunin. Life and creativity", still little known to a wide range of researchers. In this, almost the first monograph written during the life of I. Bunin and read by him, the creative path of the writer is first understood from the standpoint of Orthodoxy. Also not indisputable, the book of K. Zaitsev is an attempt to see in Bunin not only an artist, but also a religious thinker, whose "creativity is a remarkable discovery of human religious experience" (The fragment is underlined by Bunin). This inevitably entails the spiritual dimension of his work as a whole

and his artistic anthropology in particular.

K. Zaitsev writes that "Bunin is far from understanding the world in the light of which man is something qualitatively (emphasis K. Zaitsev. – O. B.) different from any other creature in the world, " but the explanation for this is that for the writer " God is in everything." He considers Bunin's creative path as an "ascent", and in The Life of Arsenyev he records a noticeable "spiritual shift", which was manifested, in particular, in the fact that"for the first time in Bunin's consciousness and creativity, a human personality appears with such vividness, coming to a personal God".]
