Alumnus of BA studies at the Bezalel School (1952-6). Following his graduation he migrated to the USA and from there he continued to make his work known. During the 1960s he designed vitrages for several synagogues in the USA, among others 16 vitrages for a seminary named after Hofberger at the Kehilat Ivrit synagogue, Baltimore, Maryland, USA in 1968, where he also taught teaching and continued his MA studies. Engel's name is widespread and known among the Jewish Community in France and the USA, and his works were dealt for high prices and can be found in many important collections.
