Known as "the father of the generation of knitted skullcaps," because of his great influence on shaping the face of the national-religious society, which advocates a combination of Torah, work and state. He served as a member of the Knesset for one term on behalf of the National Religious Party and an Israel Prize laureate for a special contribution to the Company and Rabbi Kook
