He was together with Paul Natorp school leader of Marburg Neo-Kantianism, but is also considered one of the most important representatives of Jewish philosophy in the 20th century. The psychology that prevails in science, as in life, assumes an affect of hatred in the individual and in peoples. Based on this terminology, the accuracy of which I leave here alone, I ask: how is it to be understood that almost all peoples, including the neutral ones, supposedly hate us, that at the very least they expose our strangeness to us? I simply answer Socratically: ”Because they don't understand us.”
