Prussian citizen Nikolai Johann Abrahamson, photographer, has been mentioned in reference books since 1867 as the owner of a studio in house 15 on the corner of Gorokhovaya Street and the Moika River embankment. Previously, this house housed the ”Russian Light Painting” studio of G. Orlov. In June 1879, he opened a branch in Lesnoy, at Mikhailova's dacha, on the corner of English Avenue and Bolotnaya Street. Previously, this house housed the studio of Karl Felbinger. In July 1889, Alexey Reut became the owner of the studio in this house. In 1907, on the site of the three-story building on Gorokhovaya Street, where Nikolai Abrahamson's studio had been operating for many years, the building of the trading house ”Esders and Scheifals” was built according to the design of the architects Vladimir Alexandrovich Lipsky and Konstantin Nikolaevich de Rochefort. The project for a photographic pavilion in the attic of a three-story house of the collegiate registrar's daughter Ekaterina Aleksandrovna Arkhipova on the corner of Nizhegorodskaya Street and Finsky Lane was approved in July 1900. Soon Julius Adolfovich Veidenbaum opened a photo studio in this house. In the summer, Veidenbaum's workshop operated in the village of Kuokkola. Since 1914, he is mentioned in reference books as the owner of the Universal Electric photo studio in house 8 on Razyezzhaya Street. In the mid-1920s, Anton Batnya-Bogdanov became the new owner of the photo studio on the corner of Nizhegorodskaya Street and Finsky Lane.
