Military Horn Trumpet of the 23rd Regiment Welsh Fusiliers - British Army - A military horn trumpet of the 23rd Welsh Fusiliers - British Army, circa 1900, made of copper and brass, decorated with the regimental crest on the front, with a rope wrapped around the holding arm, length: 30cm, 544g. Light wear, mostly patina of age. A regiment of infantry in the British Army, and part of the Prince of Wales's Division, formed shortly after the Glorious Revolution. In 1702, it became the Welsh Regiment of Fusiliers; the prefix ”Royal” was added in 1714, when George I named it the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. The Prince of Wales's Fusiliers In 1751, after reforms that fixed the names and numbers of the regiments, the regiment became the 23rd Regiment of Foot (The Royal Welsh Fusiliers) and in 1881 the regiment's final title was adopted.
