Weight: 130 gr. Hans Meinhold, actually Ernst Paul Johannes Meinhold (* September 11, 1888 in Sandow, Pyritz District; † December 7, 1968) was a German pastor and Low German writer. Ernst Paul Johannes Meinhold grew up in Barth, where his father was a superintendent. He studied theology in Halle and Greifswald. From 1914, he was a pastor in Kantreck, Cammin District. He then served as a pastor in Ueckermünde and Voigtshagen, Greifenberg District. In 1929, Meinhold moved to Cuxhaven, where he also worked as a naval chaplain for a time. Even during his retirement in 1955, he continued to work as a chaplain in Harburg. Meinhold wrote Low German songs and poems. From 1949 to 1958, he worked on a translation of the Bible into Low German verse. The manuscript has been housed in the Low German Bible Center in Barth since 2001. Meinhold's three sons died in World War II.
