Good condition: cover: slight abrasions in the margins, interior: brown paper, preserved in good condition. * ”La Jerusalem libertada” - The epic poem ”Jerusalem Liberated” (Italian: La Gerusalemme liberata) by the 16th-century Italian poet Torquato Tasso. It is a largely mythological account of the First Crusade, focusing on the Christian knights' conquest of Jerusalem from Muslim rule. The poem was first published in 1581 and is Tasso's most famous work. Tasso began writing the poem in the mid-1560s and completed it in 1575. An earlier version was called ”The Gofferdo” Completed earlier, the work was influenced by Renaissance literature and is considered to reflect the religious and political anxieties of the Counter-Reformation era.
