Rare Photo assortment from World War II – British Royal Air Force (RAF) Soldier – India and Other Countries - A large assortment assortment of over 120 original photographs taken during World War II (1941-5) by British soldier W. Wallace, a member of the Royal Air Force (LAC), some attached to photo album pages and some detached, including handwritten captions with names, places and personal descriptions from service in the East and Europe. Among other things, the following special items are included in the assortment: • Rare photographs from service at the British Air Force base in India – Karachi, Delhi and more. Includes captions such as: “Karachi Waters”, “Taj Mahal from Air”, and “Uxbridge 1942”. • Photographs of daily life in service: aircraft, camps, soldiers, local residents, Christmas dinner menu 1941, and assortment photographs. • Official assortment photo of the unit: “T” Flight, 101 Embarkation Unit, Trondheim, Norway, 23.8.1945. • Official and personal photos, documenting moments of camaraderie, operational activity, landscapes and aircraft (“Aeroplane Snaps”). • Rare personal documentation including names, dates, places and insights from military service. The photos are in various formats, the largest of which is a assortment photo measuring 15X20 cm. In good-very good condition, there is reasonable wear to some of the photos.
