High quality and old sandcast bronze figurine - based on the ”Bronze Head of Queen Idia” - Benin Tribe, Nigeria - A high-quality and old Benin bronze figurine, based on the ”Bronze Head of Queen Idia”, Benin tribe, Nigeria, 20th century, made with high-quality sand casting, dark brown patina, height: 29 cm, 1.41 kg.  * The Bronze Head of Queen Idia is a bronze head cast to commemorate the medieval Benin kingdom in West Africa. The head probably represents Idia, the mother of Oba Esige, made in the early sixteenth century at the Benin court and is currently in the assortment of the British Museum in London, England.
